CCBNC would like to take this opportunity to recognize the following members:

WAY TO GO JABAR AKBAR! - Jabar is one of 20 NCNA / NCANA members selected to attend the NCNA 2016 sixth Leadership Academy (See attached article from the Spring 2016 edition of the Tar Heel Nurse).

Congratulations! - Kiana Cooper received the CCBNC Scholarship Award at our Annual Education-Lecture Luncheon on December 5, 2015.   Kiana is a student member who is attending Winston-Salem State University.

Kudos to Jabar Akbar who has been selected to participate in the 2016  NCNA Leadership Academy. Participants will learn to critically analyze the changing health care environment to determine the best opportunities for leaders, including those within nursing, to improve access to patient care and clinical outcomes while improving value. The NCNA Leadership Academy provides a structure for considering how leadership happens, and what perils and possibilities are present as nurses lead themself, others, and the community.

The program empowers participants to become better skilled as communicators, presenters and advocates, for interactions with external audiences they'll most likely face in professional, civic and community engagements

Welcome to Nikki Steele-Smith, our newest member to CCBNC.  We are proud to have you join our organization.  We are looking forward to working with you.

Congratulations to Tonie Thomas, Shonda Stacey and Helen Horton who retired in November and December 2015.
